Jeffrey B. Peters, Security Consultant

Mr. Peters has over 20 years of Department of Energy, Department of Defense, State and private sector security experience.

His extensive experience covers all facets of security including protective force operations and management, industrial (site) security, emergency operations and security instructor, specializing in counter-terrorism tactics. He is the former Director of Protective Force Operations and training at Rocky Flats, a former Department of Energy major nuclear weapons plant employing over 8500 federal and civilian personnel in Colorado. He was directly responsible for the protection of the site and approximately 21 tons of weapons grade nuclear material. As the director, he commanded and trained an armed counter-terrorism force of over 400 security personnel.

While employed at Rocky Flats, Mr. Peters held positions of Manager of Security and Security Instructor. He managed multiple security programs including Personnel Security, Operational Security, Communication Security, Classified Document Control, Site Access Control and Security Education. Additionally, he designed and implemented all aspects of security and counter-terrorism training for a para-military force exceeding a staff of 250. 

Prior to his employment with Rocky Flats, he served at multiple locations worldwide in the U.S. Air Force as a nuclear security police officer, where he gained certification as a Department of Defense Security Specialist. He designed and implemented on-the-job training for Air Force nuclear security specialists.

He holds certifications in Vulnerability Assessments, Security Instructor, Firearms Instructor and Base and Installation Security Systems. He is trained in Management Team Troubleshooting, Emergency Security Operations Management, Security Policy and Procedure Development and Security Lesson Plan Development.

He is experienced in dignitary protection and was responsible for the protection of such personnel as two secretaries of energy, congressional representatives and numerous high level corporate executives.
